Classroom, Inc.

Overview

Classroom, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving reading and math skills for middle and high school students by developing engaging programs and training and supporting teachers to use these programs. Its goal is to help ensure that whatever social and economic obstacles young people face, they all have a chance to succeed.

Challenges

Classroom, Inc. was facing two main challenges. One, competition from for-profit companies who creat similar tools is strong. Two, the number of non-profit companies competing for donor dollars has also dramatically increased in recent years.

Classroom, Inc.

1 / Update materials to match the fresh ideas of the consumers they serve

2 / Being a non-profit organization; they wanted to get the most they could out of their small budget

3 / Distinguishing the donor communications from the sales communications

4 / Distinguish program components while creating a cohesive package

Solution

Courtney & Company and Classroom, Inc. worked together to develop a strong and easily recognizable brand identity for the company. It included a new logo, color palette and design guidelines that would communicate the mission and core values, and be more appealing to those working closely with students including teachers and school administrators. In addition, we placed children in the forefront of the communications, including real aspirations of New York City public school children.
