Priyanka Cup
Karim Alibahi, founder of Gencom Group (a development firm that is responsible for projects like the Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch and The Lodge at Rancho Mirage), created a tennis tournament not too long ago. Named after Karim's first daughter, the Priyanka Cup was created as an annual charity event in Miami. Courtney & Co. partnered with Gencom Group and Cliff Drysdale Tennis to brand the event and create all of the collateral materials needed to make it a huge success. The first annual Priyanka Cup was held over the first two weekends of December 2006. The tournament included a doubles tournament for local players, a Pro-Am tournament and a Champions Shootout. To close the event, a reception highlighted memorable moments and closed the tournament with both live and silent auctions.
The inaugural Priyanka Cup raised $395,000. This was the first year of a first class tennis event for a good cause that people will look forward to for years to come.
